Knot's Oatmeal Cookies

Knot recommends a cat be present for the proper supervision of the mixing and baking of the cookies.

Get a human to preheat the oven to 375 degrees

¾ cup butter or margarine (a cup is about the size of a small kitty water bowl)

1 cup brown sugar--firmly packed

½ cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon( about a kitty paw full) baking powder

¼ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

¼ ground cloves

1 chicken egg (dragon eggs won't work)

1 ½ teaspoons of vanilla

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup raisins (substitute fairy winkberries if they're in season)

2 cups rolled oats

*Note from Keelie—I took the catnip out of this recipe because it would clash with the taste of the vanilla and oatmeal, and Knot drools when I add catnip.

*Knot disagrees with Keelie

*Note from Keelie—What does Knot know about cookies? He washes his tail with his tongue.

In a large mixing bowl beat butter on high with an electric mixer for thirty seconds. Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cloves and cinnamon. Beat until combined. Scrap the sides of bowl occasionally. Add egg and vanilla to mixture.

Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer. Stir in remaining flour. Stir in rolled oats, stir in raisins or fairy winkberries.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoons, 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes , or till edges are golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

Knot says at this point you must reward your cat with all the oatmeal cookies he so deservedly needs.

Note from Keelie—Yeah right! I did all the work. Knot put that cookie down, right now. . .
